Proven Results
BACTIglas™ has been independently proven to reduce microbial growth by greater than 99.9% when incorporated into a range of polymers and end applications against a broad spectrum of bacteria including MRSA (antibiotic resistant), E.coli and Listeria to name but a few.
This activity can be measured through laboratory testing, typically to ISO 22196 which quantifies the reduction of live bacteria achieved by the finished product against the chosen test bacteria.
ISO 22196 test method is an industry standard and the one employed by Wells to demonstrate antimicrobial performance in the final product.
Antimicrobial testing is often conducted and reported against two types of bacteria, gram-positive and gram-negative, these types are defined by their difference in cell walls.
Testing against both types provides evidence that BACTIglas™ is able to cross both structures of cell wall and therefore activity against a broad range of bacteria is possible.
Compliance
BACTIglasTM is EU/UK BPR and EPA compliant making it suitable for use in multiple applications. Once incorporated into either a polymer or a coating BACTIglasTM does not diminish the aesthetic or mechanical properties of a product, but does improve its hygienic quality.

Food Contact Safe.
BACTIglas™ technologies are food contact safe and can be incorporated into numerous materials used in food preparation, packaging and work top surfaces. The technology used is permitted by both EU/GB and US regulations in the manufacture of polymers and products that come into contact with food.

Adding BACTIglasTM into a product reduces and controls the number of bacteria on the surface of that product.
